BBMP will be tiling a road

The BBMP in a new scheme has decided to construct roads in a manner similar to tiles laid inside residences. Instead of continuing the third phase of whitetopping, the BBMP has decided to construct the Old Madras road using tiles. Said to be a project that is first of its kind, the BBMP has said that it will be constructing a 500 meter road in the tile pattern within a span of three days.

The project has begun on the Old Madras Road from Tuesday and the ability of these tiles to sustain is expected to be 30 years. The budget of both laying out the tiles and white topping is almost equal. The chief engineer Prahlad of BBMP has said that the project will be implemented in Indiranagar as well, in its first phase.
