Man brutally kills ‘conman’, walks into police station with dead body

A 32-year-old mechanic was arrested after he turned himself in for allegedly murdering a person who had cheated him with a fake promise of getting him a huge loan. Officers at the Ramamurthy Nagar police station were shocked when the accused, Rajashekhar, led the police to his car and showed them the body of the deceased, Maheshappa, lying in the backseat.
According to the sources, Rajashekhar, a resident of Horamavu in the city, and his mother, Suvidha, who runs a women’s self-help group, had allegedly paid Rs 2 crore to Maheshappa, who had promised to get a huge loan for them. It was also revealed that Rajashekhar and his mother had borrowed loans from a local money lender and had given it to Maheshappa, who reportedly cheated them and escaped to Nanjangud.
Later Rajashekhar and his mother had to sell their house in order to repay money to the lenders and were forced to live in his father-in-law’s house. The police also said that the family also faced many health issues and was in dire need of money.The police said that Rajashekhar had tracked down Maheshappa two days ago near Nanjangud and brought him to the city.
Moving around in a car, the accused tortured Maheshappa attacking him with an iron rod. Maheshappa sustained serious injuries and died inside the car. Rajshekhar has been booked for murder and further investigation against him is being carried out, police said.
