42 IAS officers, including BBMP chief promoted to apex scale in pay matrix

Karnataka government ordered promotion of 42 IAS officers to the apex scale (higher levels in the pay matrix) with effect from January 1 2023. The circular was issued by the state government on Saturday. Among the officers, Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Chief Commissioner, Tushar Girinath, is promoted to officiate in the apex scale of IAS carrying the pay scale of level 17 in the pay matrix.

Major Manivannan, Secretary to Government, Social Welfare Department, is promoted to officiate in the IIAG scale of IAS carrying the pay scale of level 15 in the pay matrix and is posted as Principal Secretary in the same department.

Commissioner for Survey Settlement and Land Records, Munish Moudgil, is promoted to officiate in the HAG scale of IAS carrying the pay scale of level 15 in the pay matrix. He is further posted as Principal Secretary to Government, Revenue Department (DM, Bhoomi and UPOR) for a day at the level of HAG and thereafter posted until further orders as Commissioner, Survey Settlement and Land Records, in the upgraded post.

Dr Thrilok Chandra, Special Commissioner (Health and IT), BBMP, is promoted to officiate in the super time scale of IAS carrying the pay scale of level 14 in the pay matrix and will continue in the current post. Manjunath J, Commissioner, Department of AYUSH, is promoted to officiate in the selection grade of IAS carrying the pay scale of level 13 in the pay matrix and will continue in the department until further orders.
