Metro users wonder when Kudlu Gate will open

Bengaluru: After the sanctioning of the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporations (BMRCL) Phase 2 project connecting Bommasandra from Rashtriya Vidyalaya Raste metro station which is phase 1, its length is approximately 19 km.

The metro connecting Bommasandra to Hosur can be deemed beneficial for commuters coming from Tamil Nadu as Hosur is located at a distance of 20.4 km from Bommaisandra out of which 11.7 km falls under the Karnataka province and the rest 8.8 km in the Tamil Nadu province.

The construction of Kudlu Gate on Hosur Road has sped up the building and Mild Steelworks ahead of the elections just like the many interventions that are being carried out by other civic authorities from the beginning of the new year.

Assigned Engineer Jajin said,” New engineers have been assigned in place of the old ones, due to the delay in most of the projects. I was placed here three months ago. I am studying the project and can assure the public that by July the metro will be open for use.”

Parthavi Kumari, a student of Dayanand Sagar University in Hal Layout said, “We walk from Garvi Bhavi Palya every day, crossing signals have become a life-threatening affair. I have gotten asthma because of my persistent allergies which elevated when I walk on these dirty and imbalanced roads. It is another story altogether when it rains, as then we have to be extra watchful about open drains which become difficult to navigate in the flood.”

Her friend Nimisha continued,” The construction work is ongoing for a long time now and it cuts no slack, we have to walk through junctions operating fast and conjuring traffic. It is also unsafe as the sides of the roads are encroached on by bus drivers and daily wage workers that stay drunk and dump garbage on the sidelines. Some of them also contest eve-teasing ”

The area becomes an epicenter of congestion as and when the colleges and schools in the area end for the day, this causes more confusion and many have gotten injured in the brawl to save themselves from a major accident that can occur easily in a road so unplanned like the one in Srinivas Nagar.

It has not just become a nuisance for regulars, the constant hampering of the project has escalated the city's pollution rate which exists to be a real problem regardless of how the civic body deals with it.
