Hennur not proud to host leaning pole of Bengaluru

Bengaluru: A series of civic woes have surfaced in the garden-city-turnedsilicon-city, Bengaluru, triggering panic among its residents. An electric pole was found to be dangerously tilting towards a busy road in Hennur on Tuesday.
A picture of the pole was shared on Twitter with taglines such as 'Leaning pole of Bengaluru,' and 'Leaning lights of North Bengaluru’. As the netizens started tagging the Twitter handles of civic authorities, a team of workers from the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (Bescom) reached the spot to fix the pole and avert an avoidable mishap.
“Seems drunk with power.. is it 18yrs old or 21 years ?” wrote an activist group on Twitter. Another commented, "This is done by design. When it falls on someone, no one will be held responsible (although a few private employees of some contractors will be suspended for a few days and then reinstated). And we shall continue to be worried about young girls covering their heads to get into college/ school," he said.
The residents pointed towards increasing civic apathy in the city through their sarcastic comments. “Maybe they have put it so that people can have candlelight dinner below the pole,” yet another netizen wrote.
