IIIT-B aims to equip future developers and designers
Special interest group for computer–human interaction (SIGCHI) and the association of computing machinery (ACM) collaborate

Bengaluru: The student chapter of IIIT Bangalore ACM SIGCHI was launched at the campus via an online zoom meeting. Amit Chowdary, head of design at Samsung Bengaluru, Satish Patil, head of UX team and smart home and AI led smartphone experiences at Samsung research and Biju Neyya, team leader of designers at Samsung research, inaugurated the initiative.

The Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) brings a synergy of top educators, professionals, experts, and researchers to inspire dialogue, explain hardships in the field, and share their views and resources. In order to achieve technical excellence, the association stands as an apostle of leadership, high standards, and recognition for technical brilliance.
”ACM Special Interest Group For Computer–Human Interaction (SIGCHI) Student Chapter focuses on engaging students in the design world which blends in with its developmental aspects, we can't speak separately about both,' said Preeti Mudilar, faculty at IIT Bangalore.
“The tutorials, workshops, and researchers will open up about their challenges for these discoveries in the space which will enrich the minds of the learners. We aim to build conscious designers and developers,” she added.
Amit Chowdary heads the largest tech product design team; he works towards formulating more industrial exposure for the betterment of the production of cutting-edge technology in visual computing, AI, voice, IoT, and 5G. With 20 years of experience in the field, he has been associated with the big fishes in the software space and R&D units across India.
Satish Patel who leads the UX team at Samsung is focused on improving the wearable, smart home, and AI led smart phone technology experience by engaging in user experience and finding innovative solutions for the same.
Leading a team of designers at the Samsung research centre. Biju specializes in voice and multimodal interactions, he is also involved in the design of conversational experiences for Samsung devices, enabling user interaction through a simpler medium.
