Bengaluru: With the ruling BJP not having good enough orators to take on Congress Party leaders, the saffron leaders are planning to deploy Uttara Kannada MP Ananth Kumar Hegde, Chikmagalur MLA and BJP National General Secretary C.T.Ravi, Vijayapura MLA Basangouda Patil and former MLC G. Madhusudhan to whip up sentiments among the majority Hindu voters.
Highly placed sources told News Trail that people are not interested in listening to the speeches of Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, his predecessor B.S.Yediyurappa, and other ministers whose oratorial skiills leave a lot to be desired. Even Yediyurappa’s speech has become lacklustre with age slowly catching up with the veteran leader. The speeches by other ministers are uninspiring and so the party is roping in leaders like Hegde, Ravi, Yatnal, and Madhusudhan who can whip up sentiments among voters on Hindutva.
These leaders might be deployed in districts like Kalyana Karnataka and Kittur Karnataka regions where pro-Hindutva speeches could strike a chord. Recently, a 15-minute video of Ananth Kumar Hegde criticizing pseudo-secularism and the anti-Hindu stance of Siddaramaiah has gone viral on social media.
Similarly, the speech of Ravi in Mandya received more applause than that of Bommai. Likewise, the people of North Karnataka wait patiently to hear Yatnal’s speech laced with wit, humor, and caustic remarks. The proposal to utilise their services to consolidate Hindu votes has been placed before Delhi leaders for approval.
Recently, Parliamentary & Minor Irrigation Minister J.C.Madhuswamy regretted that no senior BJP leader rebuts the charges of the Congress Party and so people have started believing their allegations.
