RPF to enhance security measures at railway stations

Bengaluru: Karnataka Railway Police Force (RPF), preparing to enhance security measures across railway stations, has issued a new set of guidelines, which state that the railway police have joined hands with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) after increasing incidents of decomposed bodies being found in railway station premises.
As per the new guidelines, additional staff will be deployed to monitor suspicious objects like buckets and drums as many north Indian travellers carry clothes and household articles in them.
Any parcel or baggage that is brought to a railway station will be inspected and there will be strict checking at entry and exit points. The railway authorities have also instructed officials concerned to repair damaged CCTV cameras and install more of them at necessary places.
They have also given instructions to increase the resolution of the existing CCTV cameras and install baggage scanners at all railway stations. In recent weeks, bodies of women stuffed in plastic drums were found at Baiyappanahalli, Yesvantpur and Bangarpet railway stations.
