Bengaluru:

Former Minister and the Working President of KPCC Ramalinga Reddy said on Tuesday that he opined that DK Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah should remain silent over the CM post for the good of the Congress party in the state. His comments came amid the ongoing tussle for the CM’s post among the top leaders in the party, and when DK Shivakumar indicated his willingness to work under Mallikarjune Kharge, the party’s president if the latter becomes the CM. “People will have more confidence in the Congress party if they do not state who should be the CM,” he said.

The former minister also said the party was in fix and confusion over the selection of candidate for the upcoming Assembly polls, going on to add that the sideling of Yeddyurappa by the BJP is an advantage for the Congress. Taking a jibe at the BJP, Reddy said the corruption has reached the limits under the BJP rule, where the country’s debts are already high, with which the people are unhappy. These factors will ensure that the Congress party wins the election, he said. To a question whether he would be interested in the CM’s post, Reddy said he is not in the race.
