Bengaluru:
A city resident had lost all hopes of getting back Rs 10,000, which he had mistakenly paid to an autorickshaw driver through a Unified Payments Interface mobile phone app. However, the honest autorickshaw driver, Siddiq Pasha, returned the money to the resident earning huge appreciation from the people here. Jose, a businessman, said that he had booked a ride on March 14 and travelled with Pasha to Kalasipalyam from BTM Layout in Bengaluru.
Upon reaching his destination, the businessman claimed to have paid Pasha through a UPI-based app to settle the fare. However later Jose remembered that he had to send Rs 10,000 to one of his friends who, coincidentally, shared the same name as the autorickshaw driver. "By mistake, I paid Rs 10,000 to Siddiq Pasha, the autorickshaw driver instead of paying to my friend Siddiq Pasha," Jose said. Realing the error, Jose began searching for ways to contact the autorickshaw driver to get his money back.
"I sought the help of one of my friends who is serving in the police force in the South Bengaluru division. With his help, we retrieved the driver's contact number and informed him about the wrong transaction. To his joy, Jose received his money a few minutes back from Siddiq Pasha. Jose said that while speaking to him Pasha had told him that he was unaware of Rs 10,000 being credited into his account and also that he knows the value of money
