Bengaluru:

The highly anticipated JEE mains 2023 exams have just ended, leaving thousands of aspirants with many burning questions. If you have taken the test, your mind might be loaded with a plethora of doubts and questions, especially about JEE Advance. Here are some answers to the most pressing questions on your mind. How to prepare for  the next big exam?

According to Professor Rajkumar S Pant, an Aerospace Engineering professor at IIT Bombay, having a fundamental knowledge of physics, chemistry and maths is essential to perform well in JEE Advance. “JEE Advance will be much more difficult and complicated compared to JEE mains and it is essential to be fully prepared,” he says. He also advises starting practising immediately after the JEE Mains and solving question papers from the past 10 years to evaluate their preparation.

The National Testing Agency reported that over 8 lakh students appeared for the JEE Main January Session 2023 exam. With only about 2.5 lakh students being placed in Indian Institute of Technologies (IITs) in India, if a student is unable to clear JEE Mains in one year, the professor strongly suggests that they should consider other entrance exams in their state such as KCET in Karnataka, TANCET in Tamil Nadu, MHT CET in Maharashtra.

He also mentioned that private colleges can also be an option “Do not waste one year on this examination. There are so many other ways one can pursue engineering,” he recommends. The answer key for the JEE Mains might be released on April 16 with the results following closely behind on April 20, based on previous year's trends.
