Residences of 101 rowdy-sheeters raided

Bengaluru: As a part of preparation for the upcoming Assembly elections on May 10, the Bengaluru police conducted an area domination exercise in East Bengaluru on Friday.
Led by DCP, Dr Bheemashankar S Guled, the police raided the residences of 101 rowdy-sheeters to prevent any potential influence on voters. During the exercise, a total of 912 vehicles were checked and 18 checkposts were established.
As a result, two individuals were taken into custody under the Arms Act, and 15 petty cases were booked. Additionally, 62 two-wheelers and two cars were detained for further verification. Similar raids were also conducted in Southeast Bengaluru, targeting over 100 history sheeters and antisocial elements.
The police had previously conducted raids in the Central, South, West, and North zones on Thursday. Led by DCP, CK Baba, over 100 houses were raided in areas such as Tilak Nagar, HSR Layout, Parappana Agrahara, and Koramangala. Several people with warrants issued against them were detained, and lethal weapons were seized from some houses. 5,000 warrants were issued later and route marches were held in 80 areas.
With the Karnataka polls result set to be declared on May 13, the Election Commission of India has been taking measures to ensure a fair and impartial election process. The area domination exercises are part of these efforts, aimed at maintaining law and order and preventing any form of voter influence or intimidation.
