
‘Every citizen has right to justice’, B Dayananda after taking charge as police chief

Bengaluru: Accepting the baton from the outgoing Police Commissioner CH Pratap Reddy on Wednesday, B Dayananda assured to make necessary reforms in the functioning of the force to make it more responsive to the grievances of the people in the city.
Quoting a statement of Reiman, B Dayananda said that he will work towards ensuring justice to all while putting an end to the "rich get richer and the poor get prison," custom. The new Bengaluru Police Commissioner also assured to take measures to eliminate rowdy elements and to make a crime-free city.
Speaking to the reporters after taking over the charge as the Bengaluru Police Commissioner, Dayananda said that he will focus on traffic management and cybercrime. "People have trust in the Department, and I will work hard to retain that trust. There are many challenges, and they will be taken up on priority. Traffic management in the city needs coordination from civic agencies. The Department will work with the agencies to manage traffic in a better way," he said.
There is an overload of cases in cybercrime stations and the Police require training to investigate the cases effectively, he said and added that the required training will be provided to all the policemen to handle cybercrime cases, he said.
