
Govt to empower minority students through education

Bengaluru: The government has announced a number of key initiatives to boost technical education in the State.
These initiatives are aimed at making technical education more accessible and affordable, and at encouraging students to pursue technical careers.
In collaboration with reputed coaching institutions, a ten-month residential coaching program will be offered to minority aspirants for IAS/ KAS and other competitive exams at Haj Bhavan in Bengaluru.
This program aims to provide equal opportunities for minority candidates to excel in competitive exams. Infrastructure development in educational institutions is also a priority.
A grant of Rs 25 crore has been allocated to provide infrastructure facilities to the University of Visvesvaraya College of Engineering (UVCE) in Bengaluru.
Additionally, the textile technology department at SKSJTI Engineering College in Bengaluru will be upgraded as a Smart and Technical Textile Centre under the National Technical Textile Mission and PM-Mitra scheme.
In addition to the aforementioned initiatives, the Karnataka government has planned various measures to enhance technical education.
These include increasing the number of seats in technical colleges and providing scholarships to students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
