Bengaluru: A case has been registered against a traffic police constable after a female colleague accused him of raping her on the false promise of marriage.
The victim, who was earlier attached to the Bengaluru South East Subdivision, in her complaint, claimed that she was raped by the 30-year-old constable in 2018 after which he promised to marry her.
She claimed that this happened when both of them were working at the same traffic police station here.
The woman further alleged that the accused had forced her to take abortion pills after having a physical relationship with her. Their relationship turned sour when the accused started avoiding the victim.
The woman stated that she had attempted to speak to his parents but has got no response from them so far.
However, when the accused came to know about it, he confronted her and allegedly assaulted her with a lathi.
It is alleged that the accused has not reported to duty since last week. The matter has now been brought to the notice of higher officials, and is being investigated.
