B'luru property documents will be digitised: DKS

NT Bureau, Bengaluru: Deputy CM DK Shivakumar on Saturday announced that documents of the city’s properties would be digitized and assigned separate identities so as to avoid manipulation and counterfeiting of the same.

On the day, he conducted a meeting with Bengaluru’s RWAs, following which he told mediapersons that their city properties would be documented and digitised under records kept by the BBMP and BDA.

Shivakumar, who is also the Bengaluru Development Minister vowed to track down property tax dodgers. He added that the digitization initiative was another instance of services being delivered to people’s doorsteps.

The Deputy CM clarified that there was no proposal to increase property tax. He said that his discussion with the RWAs was fruitful, adding that the problems plaguing that city such as waste disposal were discussed.

The RWAs also pointed out that BBMP and other local body elections hadn’t taken place.
