Bengaluru: Namma Bengaluru Police brought smiles to the faces of a family after they traced two young children who had lost their way while returning from school in the city.
According to the family, the children aged five and six had walked a little distance away from their autorickshaw which usually ferries them home after school. The autorickshaw driver had gone inside the school for a brief while during the time.
The children, after walking a little distance near the satellite bus station, got confused and wandered for some time unable to figure out how to get home.
However, the boy, aged five, approached a young woman who was passing by and said that they had lost their way and were feeling scared. Luckily, the smart boy remembered his father's mobile phone number.
The young woman got another individual who was close by to call the boy’s father from his phone. The caller informed the boy’s father that the children were near the bus station. The boy’s father reached the VV Puram Police Station and informed the cops about what had happened.
The police then traced the caller's location and a team of 20 policemen fanned out around the satellite bus station. "The two children were found about 1 KM away from where the call was made, and they were brought back and reunited with the parents," said an official from VV Puram Police station.
