AIDSO condemns ‘evaluation scam’

Bengaluru: All India Democratic Students Organisation (AIDSO) on Wednesday claimed that there had been irregularities in some exams of the Bangalore University (BU), citing newspaper stories as proof.
They were referring to Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) fifth semester exams in particular at the varsity.
“As reported in newspapers, the Bangalore University (BU) has unearthed a fresh evaluation scam where 41 empty answer scripts of BBA 5th semester exams in March 2023 were given to students to be filled up.
The outsourced employee is absconding and students involved, allegedly, of top colleges, are issued notice for this malpractice.
After digging into the matter, it is also reported that 19 more such cases over the last three years belonging to various courses and students from prime colleges are unveiled,” an official AIDSO statement said.
“AIDSO strongly condemns the scheme of outsourcing, third party system within universities, which is highly vulnerable for such malpractices and questions the authority of BU to keep constant vigilance and high alertness in issues like these.
Thousands of meritorious students, coming from nook and corner of the state and sometimes country, get hold of the seats with arduous struggle belonging to very poor economic backgrounds; BU should bear responsibility and immediately rectify the matter,” it added.
“AIDSO, also condemns the digitised evaluation, which has started since 2019. The scanning of answer scripts and other technical work of the evaluation department are outsourced.
This method of outsourcing must be stopped at once and BU must take the entire responsibility,” AIDSO said.
