Mysuru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced that Yuvanidhi, one of the five guarantee schemes promised by the Congress party, will be implemented from December this year or from January next year.

Talking to reporters at Mandakalli Airport in Mysuru on Saturday, he said Rs 3,000 per month will be given to degreepassed students if they fail to get a job within six months after completion of the courses.

It would be Rs 1,500 per month for the diploma-passed students. The registration for the Gruha Lakshmi scheme is on and it will be implemented by the end of this month.

On the Tamil Nadu government raising an objection over the release of Cauvery water, the CM said rain in the catchment areas this year has been low due to which both the states must follow the distress formula.

The dams in the Cauvery basin have less storage because of the scanty rain in Kerala and Kodagu regions.

The water would-be released after studying the situation, he added. Siddaramaiah said those who received the burn injuries in the fire mishap in BBMP quality testing laboratory, were under 48 hours observation.

There was no problem for persons with less than 30 per cent burns. All the nine were being treated in intensive care unit and instructions have been given to give good treatment.

To a question, he said the government was following the orders of the high court in regard to taluk and zilla panchayat.

The court has given ten weeks’ time for the delimitation of wards in taluk and zilla panchayats, and 12 weeks for the BBMP polls. The government is ready to hold the election as per the court’s direction.
