DKS vows to defeat BJP

Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has vowed to present a united front to defeat the BJP in next year’s Lok Sabha elections, adding that a Congress-led coalition would “save the country.”

He made the comments during the Hussain Day commemoration in Bengaluru on Sunday.

“In this context, I would like to promise that we will save this country from communal forces and re-establish harmony. I would like to give this assurance that we will do this under the guidance of AICC (All India Congress Committee) AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi,” Shivakumar said.

While not naming any party, he was directing his comments against Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP in the context of the Lok Sabha elections in the upcoming year.
