Considerable differences in Karnataka BJP after Assembly elections: MP Renukacharya

Bengaluru: Former BJP MLA MP Renukacharya says he has observed significant changes within the Karnataka BJP following the assembly elections, noting that differences of opinion have emerged within the party.

Renukacharya said he had also expressed his discontent at a recent meeting held at the BJP office.

Speaking to the media, he said he questioned the necessity of the meeting in the absence of Yediyurappa and the limited presence of leaders, including Basavaraj Bommai.

He emphasized that he has candidly discussed the state of affairs that prevailed in the party two months ago and has fearlessly voiced his concerns, even highlighting the weaknesses of certain individuals.

Renukacharya referred to the sidelining of Yediyurappa as detrimental to the BJP and stated that Yediyurappa’s leadership played a crucial role in the BJP’s electoral successes.

He also recalled the history of BJP leaders in Karnataka, noting that they had all joined the party in 2007. He criticized the party for conspiring against Yediyurappa and ousting him from power in 2011, highlighting that Yediyurappa had not committed any wrongdoing.

Despite the setback, Yediyurappa was later reinstated in the BJP and played a significant role in the party’s electoral victories, he added.
