Honeytrap accused in Indore, held in B'luru

Bengaluru: In a surprising twist during a theft investigation at Mahadevapura Police Station in Bengaluru, authorities stumbled upon Aarti Dayal, a woman previously embroiled in a highprofile honey-trap case in Indore.
Dayal had been arrested in 2019 in Madhya Pradesh for her alleged involvement in a honeytrap racket orchestrated by a gang. After her release on bail in 2020, she had gone off the radar, prompting concerns about her wellbeing, even leading the Indore bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court to question her status.
The recent discovery occurred when a theft case was reported by a woman who had lost her valuables from a PG in Mahadevapura. While investigating this case, the police tracked down the accused in Vijayawada and subsequently arrested her.
During the course of their inquiry, it was revealed that Dayal had been using various aliases like Sonu, Samantha, and Arati Agarwal to conceal her identity.
Sources also disclosed that she had been involved in thefts not only in Bengaluru but also in Chennai and other cities. While evading law enforcement, Dayal had taken up employment in spas and established relationships with co-workers to secure accommodation in PGs.
Subsequently, she would abscond with valuables after a short stay. Given that a case had been registered against her in Indore, the Mahadevapura police have informed their counterparts in MP about her arrest. Further investigations into her activities are currently underway.
