Bengaluru: misrepresenting drop locations The city is gearing up for its inaugural driverless Metro train, set to debut next month on the Yellow Line running between RV Road and Bommasandra.

This line serves as a crucial link connecting Electronics City, home prominent firms like Infosys and Biocon, with South Bengaluru.

Anticipated in October, two train sets, each comprising 12 coaches, are expected to make their way to the city. This enhancement will provide direct connectivity from Electronics City to key IT companies such as Infosys and the biotech giant Biocon.

The decision by Namma Metro to implement driverless trains on the Yellow Line has seen the China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation securing the contract for the initial two trains, with Titagarh Rail India Company tasked with producing the rest.

Reports from the media indicate that a team of BMRCL engineers has already embarked on a trip to China to oversee the factory acceptance test. Once this phase is successfully completed, the train sets will be shipped from China to the Chennai port.

Factory acceptance tests, which evaluate the functionality of the train systems, are currently underway, with ongoing efforts to resolve issues related to signalling and rolling stock interfaces.
