Bengaluru police to implement e-office system soon

Bengaluru: Earning its name for the proactive adoption of innovative technologies, the city police commissioner has now decided to demonstrate its commitment to modernization by introducing an e-office system within its ranks.

This forward-thinking move aims to transition from traditional paper-based record-keeping to a paperless digital management system, effectively revolutionising the way the police department operates.

As per the directive from the Karnataka government, the e-office system has been fully integrated into both the crime and administration departments of the Bengaluru Police Department.

This transformation means that the age-old practice of maintaining physical files and documents has been replaced by the efficient management of digital files on computers.

To ensure a seamless transition, officers are now required to provide explanations when they opt to use physical files instead of their digital counterparts, reinforcing the commitment to a paperless system.

The implementation of the e-office system has reached all Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) offices across the city as the next step in this ambitious digital transformation.

Notably, the postal branch in the office of the city police commissioner, which formerly received physical files from DCP offices, has been disbanded, with the staff being assigned alternative roles.
