DKS questions HDK over JD(S) allying with both Left, BJP

Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has fired a fresh salvo against JD(S) state president HD Kumaraswamy, asking him how his party had two separate arrangements when it came to Karnataka and Kerala.
He was referring to JD(S) MLAs being a part of the ruling Left coalition in Kerala while the regional outfit had entered into a pre-poll alliance with the BJP for the Lok Sabha elections of 2024.
Earlier, JD(S) national president HD Deve Gowda had gotten into a controversy by claiming that Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan had given assent to the regional outfit’s tie-up with the saffron party in Karnataka. Vijayan had denied the claim.
“Kumaranna (Kumaraswamy) said that the alliance is limited to Karnataka. How can the national president of that party (Deve Gowda) say there is one set of plans for Kerala and another set of plans for Karnataka?” Shivakumar asked.
The Karnataka Congress chief claimed that scores of JD(S) workers from Karnataka, Kerala and elsewhere were willing to join the Congress because of dissatisfaction with their alliance with the BJP.
