Bengaluru: Following reports of a leopard's presence in an abandoned building within the Bommanahalli Industrial area, a joint effort by the Leopard Task Force from Mysuru and local forest officials was initiated.
Despite the extensive search, the leopard remained untraceable. A team of around 45 officials has been working on capturing the leopard, which has been spotted in various locations over the past three days.
The alert was first raised when beat police encountered the leopard in the Bommanahalli Industrial area around 2 a.m. on Tuesday, prompting an immediate notification to the forest department.
Subsequently, multiple teams were assembled to apprehend the leopard. Deputy Conservator of Forests (Urban), Ravindra, reported that a dedicated 6-member Leopard Task Force is spearheading the operations. He explained, "A team from the Leopard Task Force has arrived equipped for the mission. We are jointly searching for the leopard. Our primary objective is to locate the leopard, tranquillise it, and then transport it safely within a cage."
