Bengaluru: Tension escalated in Bengaluru as a group of around ten individuals vandalised the residence of BJP MLA Ramesh Jarakiholi, an incident occurring just hours after his contentious statement regarding Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar.

The episode, marked by the pasting of abusive posters in Sadashivnagar, triggered immediate police intervention and subsequent removal of the defamatory posters.

Amidst the lack of clarity regarding the individuals responsible for the vandalism, suspicions have arisen, hinting at the potential involvement of Congress affiliates or supporters of DK Shivakumar.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Prakash from Seshadripur Division visited the scene, questioning the staff at Jarakiholi's residence, yet no formal case has been registered regarding the incident.

The tense political climate between the BJP and Congress deepened following Jarakiholi's recent remarks concerning Shivakumar.

Jarakiholi's forecast that Shivakumar would soon cease to be a minister prompted significant controversy.

Accusing Shivakumar of unexplained wealth and unwarranted political interference, Jarakiholi warned of impending consequences, holding Shivakumar accountable for potential political turmoil.

The tumultuous exchange further highlighted grievances related to Shivakumar's alleged involvement in Belgaum politics, notably through Women and Child Development Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar, causing discontent among members of the Public Works Department, specifically Minister Satish Jarakiholi.

In an attempt to diffuse the escalating tensions, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah engaged in a threehour discussion with Minister Satish Jarakiholi at Home Minister Dr. G Parameshwar's residence.

The meeting aimed to address the brewing political discord, reflecting the gravity of the situation.

The political standoff continues as the rhetoric between the BJP and Congress representatives intensifies, fostering an atmosphere of uncertainty and heightened tensions within the political landscape of Karnataka.
