
Police ops bust human trafficking ring, rescue 20 women in city

Bengaluru: In a significant crackdown human trafficking and prostitution activities, the Women's Protection Squad of the CCB (Central Crime Branch) conducted a month-long special operation, resulting in the successful arrest of multiple suspects across various police stations in Bangalore.
The operations spanned locations including Bagalgunte, War thur, K.R. Puram, Vidyaranyapura, and Amrithalli police stations.
The effort led to the rescue of 20 women, comprising four from Bangladesh, eleven from West Bengal, three from Karnataka, and one each from Telangana and Uttarakhand.
Law enforcement apprehended a total of 14 suspects involved in different cases related to human trafficking and prostitution. Bengaluru City Police Commissioner B.
Dayanand informed the media that from the arrested individuals, the authorities seized 4 two-wheelers, 1 car, 40 mobile phones, 2 laptops, and 3 SIM cards from different service providers.
The investigation revealed that the accused were not only involved in prostitution but were also orchestrating a prostitution business by facilitating contact between clients and the women, arranging for their presence at desired locations.
A case was registered at the Saraswathipuram police station in this regard. Under the direction of ACP S.N., the CCB Unit of Mysore City, along with Inspector A.
Sandeshkumar and a dedicated team including SI Raju Konakeri, Pratibha Jangwad, ASI T. Satish, and other staff members, successfully unveiled and dismantled the intricate network of human trafficking and prostitution activities, ensuring the rescue and safety of the affected women.
The CCB's relentless efforts and strategic operation have significantly disrupted the criminal activities related to human trafficking and prostitution in Bangalore, further ensuring the protection and security of vulnerable individuals caught in such illicit operations.
