Power sharing remarks are unimportant: CM

Vijayanagara: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday censured fellow Congressmen for issuing statements about power sharing in the state.
“People who don’t have any work will say these things. You shouldn’t give them much importance,” he said.
On Co-operation Minister KN Rajanna saying that he would approach the high command and demand three deputy CMs, Siddaramaiah said that indeed the party’s central leadership would decide since it was a national party.
“It is the high command who will take a call. Congress is not a regional party. It’s a national party. No decision can be taken without consulting with the high command,” he said.
A multitude of MLAs and ministers in the camps of both Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah have in the past issued statements in support of either leader, creating controversy in the new media.
'Operation Kamala' plans mocked at
The CM also slammed BJP leaders, including Gokak MLA Ramesh Jarkiholi, for speculating that the State government would be toppled in the days to come.
“People who have nothing better to do sit around and issue such statements willy nilly. The people of the state have rewarded us with a victory with 135 seats. We will have a strong government for five years. The BJP, poor chaps, have become disillusioned. They can’t seem to tolerate being without power. ‘Operation Kamala’ was a success once. So they’re trying once again but it’s not possible,” he said.
‘Operation Kamala’ (Lotus) is a euphemism for BJP, when in the Opposition, tries to poach ruling party MLAs to bring the saffron party to power.
