Over the last 50 days, the investigation team has gathered various pieces of evidence in the scam that came to light following a complaint filed by the victim, Govind Babu Pujari at the Bandepalya Police Station in Bengaluru.
The police said that they have recorded the statements of 75 witnesses in the case and have gathered preliminary, circumstantial and digital evidence against the accused.

All accused are presently lodged in the Central Jail of Parappana Agrahara in Bengaluru. The courts have denied bail to the accused so far considering the sensitivity of the scandal.
The scam came to light after Govind Babu Poojari filed a complaint against Chaitra and others for cheating him of Rs 5 crore after promising him a BJP ticket in the last assembly elections in Karnataka.
After taking money, the accused had reportedly said that a senior RSS leader named Vishwanath, who had taken money from them, died and they can’t repay.
