Bengaluru: Probing a recent vehicle vandalism incident in Laggere, the city police arrested five youths allegedly involved in the incident.
The police said that they have seized one twowheeler, a machete, face masks and two iron rods from the accused persons. On November 10 morning, the residents of Rajiv Nagar found around 16 vehicles including 12 cars, an autorickshaw and four goods vehicles damaged.
Front and rear windscreens of the vehicles parked on the roadside were smashed by unidentified miscreants.
When the police scanned the CCTV footage around the area, they found the miscreants wearing masks depicting cartoon characters to hide their identities while damaging the vehicles.
The police said that one of the accused persons was earlier involved in house break-in theft (HBT) cases and was imprisoned for a brief time. A police team tracked them to their location and nabbed the gang.
Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda had earlier said that a rowdy sheet will be opened against miscreants involved in vandalising vehicles.
