
NIA raids at the house of suspect in city again

Bengaluru: A day after taking a suspect into custody, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) raided his residence in Pulikeshinagar again on Sunday in search of more information about his activities.
The NIA sleuths had raided 44 locations in Maharashtra and Karnataka on Saturday and arrested 15 suspects in connection with the ISIS terror module case.
A team further arrived in Bengaluru and raided Ali's residence in Frazer Town taking him into custody on Saturday morning. According to the central agency, Abbas hailed from Thane in Maharashtra and has been residing in Bengaluru for the last three years.
He was allegedly working for a private firm but during the pandemic, left his job and took up real estate business. The NIA suspects Ali to be in touch with the 15 suspects.
During the raids, the NIA claimed to have seized unaccounted cash of Rs 16,42,000, firearms, sharp-edged weapons, incriminating documents, smartphones and digital devices from his residence.
So far it has been learnt that Ali had purchased the flat in Frazer Town in 2018 for Rs 62 lakh and was residing here along with his family consisting of his wife, three children and his father.
More details of the investigations are yet to emerge.
