Bengaluru: A fatal accident occured near Ashoka Pillar, Jayanagar, Bengaluru when a high-end BMW bike collided with a car, resulting in one person's death and another sustaining injuries.

The incident was reported on Wednesday night as two bike dealers, Sheikh Nasir (32) and Sayed Mudasir, were assessing the speed of the BMW's 1000 cc bike.

Nasir had acquired the bike to showcase it to Mudasir, who was in search of a high-end bike for a client.

During their ride, the speeding two-wheeler, valued at Rs 24 lakhs, collided with a car near the Ashoka Pillar. The impact threw Mudasir, who was riding a pillion, a considerable distance.

Both victims were promptly transported to the hospital, where Nasir succumbed to his injuries, while Mudasir is currently undergoing treatment.

Eyewitnesses attribute the accident to the bike's excessive speed, asserting that the rider struggled to regain control in time.

The police are investigating the incident, including verifying the bike's registration details to determine its owner.

This tragedy follows a similar incident in September when two youths lost their lives after their BMW bike crashed into an electric pole in Yeshwantpur Traffic Police Station limits.
