Bengaluru: Following the recent case of an elderly woman allegedly abandoned by her daughter near Anekal, the city police commissioner B Dayananda has directed the personnel to take serious note of cases of elderly people being shunned by their children forcing them to stay at old age homes.
Obavva, 80, a resident of Dommasandra was allegedly dropped off near a temple by her daughter and son-in-law, on Saturday night.
The old woman was taken to an NGO in Bannerghatta by a few residents where she is currently being treated.
The old woman, who was in tears, said that she will never go back to her daughter's house as she was allegedly subjected to humiliation and assault by her daughter and sonin-law.
