Bengaluru: Intensifying the probe on the prostitution racket that the Halasuru Police had recently busted in the city, the cops have found that the accused had designed an exclusive app to run the racket here.
The police had arrested nine people including aTurkish woman in connection with the racket.
Among those arrested were Vaishak V Chatloor, 22, and Govindaraj, 34, who are now revealed to be software professionals. According to the police, Govindaraj was a techie who was earning a handsome income.
However he came under heavy financial burden after losing money in a share market. To repay the money to the banks he had taken loan from, Govindaraj resigned from his job and developed a matrimony mobile application.
During this, he came in touch with Vaishak, who hailed from Tamil Nadu but was residing near Parappana Agrahara in Bengaluru.
As the duo failed to make money through a matrimony app, they decided to run a prostitution racket by contacting several women from different nations.
This was when the duo came in touch with the Turkish woman, Bioinyaz, who had arrived in India on a tourist visa. She had married an Indian whom she met in Turkey.
It was revealed that the person was a businessman and had died fifteen years ago. Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda had said that Bioinyaz was living in Cooke Town along with her nine-year-old daughter after the death of her husband.
Based on a tip-off, the Halasuru Police had raided a hotel and arrested nine people including Govindaraj, Vaishak and Bioinyaz for indulging in the racket.
