KSDL launches 21 new products in blitz

Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday rolled out 21 new products manufactured by stateowned Karnataka Soap and Detergents Limited (KSDL) at the Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru on Saturday.

The products were released under the “Mysore Sandal Wave” umbrella that includes 10 varieties of Mysore Sandal soaps, three types of shower gel, six novelties of soap kits, hand wash and mineral water.

The new products included Wave Turmeric with Vegetable Oil and Turmeric, Wave Lime with Lemon Scent, Wave Deo with Mint, Wave Milk Saffron with Saffron, Wave Almond with Almond Oil, Neem Soap with Pure Neem Oil, Tulsi and Turmeric, Wave Aloe Soap with Aloe Vera and Almond Oil, Jasmine cream soap with jasmine fragrance, Oud Arabian luxury soap, Japakusuma, Bringaraja, and Mysore Sandal Shikakai soap with Nellikai and Brahmi.

The CM pointed out that the company that recorded Rs132 crore in the previous financial year has achieved Rs 182 crore in the last eight months. He lauded minister Patil's initiatives to expand the market presence of its products.

Mentioning the recent incident of busting of a counterfeit Mysore Sandal Soap unit at Hyderabad, the CM said that measures will be taken to ensure that KSDL products, which are known for their superior quality.

Patil said that initiatives have been taken to increase the turnover of the enterprise to Rs 3,000 crore in two years which currently stands at around Rs 1,400 crore.

KSDL was set up 107 years ago under Krishnaraja Wodeyar.
