Bengaluru: Hundreds of pet parents and pets came together at Jayamahal Palace on Sunday for the 10th edition of Pet Fiesta, a pet show exclusively for our four-legged friends.

Over 300 playful dogs and 100 cuddly cats walked along with their parents showing off the special bond they share through their costumes, tricks, and charm.

Apart from dogs and cats, the visitors also engaged with bored including the Macaw and other pet companions such as rabbits, cobras, turtles and so on.

Pet Fiesta, in association with Mankind - PetStar also organised a pet fashion show, dog agility zone, interactive games, an education zone, a dog obedience demonstration and so on.

The show opened an adoption drive with Let's Live Together, an NGO that promotes the fostering and adoption of Indi dogs.

The fest also featured food stalls for both pets and pet parents, with games and shopping stalls.

Heat takes toll on animals at Fiesta

The Pet Fiesta in Bengaluru garnered significant participation; however, the sweltering heat took a toll on many animals, particularly those with thick fur.

Despite organisers' efforts to hydrate and cool them with fans, numerous animals appeared visibly fatigued and dehydrated in their enclosures throughout the event.

Speaking to News Trail, a volunteer from Let's Live Together adoption remarked, "The relentless summer has been especially tough on younger animals and breeds with dense fur. While we strive to ensure their comfort, our options are limited."

A concerned pet owner shared, "I own a Shih Tzu and recently invested in an air cooler solely for him. Although this fest is extremely fun, I am exhausted and my dog is also dehydrated.
