Students' org: Exclude 'out of syllabus questions' from CET
NT Correspondent
Bengaluru: All India Democratic Students Organisation (AIDSO) demanded that the “out of syllabus” questions that appeared in the Common Entrance Test (CET) held last week be excluded from the evaluation process.
AIDSO Karnataka State Secretary Ajay Kamath blamed the PU Board and Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) for the issue, adding that the “out of syllabus” questions he was referring to were in fact old syllabus questions.
“In this case, re-examination leads to further stress. There is not enough time to prepare for the reexamination as NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) is due in the next two weeks. Therefore, keeping in mind the interests of the students, AIDSO suggests to exclude the out of syllabus questions while declaring CET ranking,” Kamath said.
“Along with this, upon the conspicuous role of two boards, an impartial investigation has to be conducted by state government and exemplary punishment should be meted out to those responsible for the crisis. AIDSO Karnataka also demands that, on pretext of elections, relief should not be delayed for Students under immense pressure,” he added.
Kamath said that assurances about the “out of syllabus questions” not appearing in the latest CET exam were not followed.
AIDSO Karnataka State Committee strongly condemns the irresponsibility of these boards” he said.
