Bengaluru: A 58-year-old named Manohar passed away due to cardiac arrest following his participation in the voting process in Kodagu district, Karnataka.

He reportedly collapsed after casting his vote at the B Shettigeri polling station in Ponnampet taluk.

Despite being promptly taken to the hospital, medical professionals pronounced him dead upon examination.

According to Ponnampet Tahsildar Mohankumar, Manohar collapsed approximately 200 meters from the polling booth after exiting.

In another heart-stopping moment at a Bengaluru polling station, Dr. Ganesh Srinivasa Prasad, a Nephrologist at Narayana Health Centre in Bommasandra, turned into a lifesaver.

While waiting in line to cast his vote at Jumbo Savari Dinne in JP Nagar 8th Phase, a woman in her fifties collapsed near the queue of voters around 9 am.

Acting swiftly, the doctor and another individual caught her before she hit the ground.

Dr Prasad told the media, describing the situation, "I checked her pulse and found it was low. There was an uprolling of eyes, and her body showed no response while she gasped for breath. I immediately initiated CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), and her condition began to improve."

Election officials quickly provided juice while an ambulance summoned promptly, arrived within five minutes. Rushed to the hospital, the woman narrowly escaped a dire fate.

"We might have lost her if there had been any delay," remarked Dr. Prasad. Due to the medical emergency, she couldn't cast her vote.
