Case filed after video of man driving bike with woman on lap in B’luru goes viral

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: A video capturing a man dangerously riding a bike with a woman seated on his lap on a flyover in Bengaluru, has sparked an intense debate on social media.

With the video going viral, Yelahanka police took action, filing a case against the couple for reckless driving on Airport Road.

According to reports, a passerby recorded the incident and alerted the authorities, leading to the registration of the case. The footage, lacking a specific date, shows the woman seated sideways on the biker's lap, holding onto his neck.

The incident allegedly took place on the Hebbal flyover in north Bengaluru. After studying the bike's license plate and CCTV footage, Bengaluru traffic police successfully identified and located the individuals involved in the video.

This is not the first such incident caught on camera in Bengaluru. A month ago, a video was circulated on social media where a couple rode a scooter with the child standing on the footrest in heavy traffic without a helmet.

In the footage, the man was riding the scooter while his wife used one hand to hold the child, who was balancing on the footrest beside her.
