AI-morphed pictures of school girl shared on social media, complaint filed

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: The City Cyber Police registered a case after a parent of a Class 9 student from a prestigious CBSE school filed a complaint alleging that an AIgenerated nude photograph of their daughter was being circulated on social media.

The complaint further reveals that photographs of another student from the same class were also morphed, though no formal complaint was lodged on her behalf.

According to sources, the images were first shared in an Instagram groupchat, where approximately 20 of the student's classmates were members. However the victim was not a part of the online group.

The victim suspects an "inside job", with one of their own friends potentially being the culprit, as the morphed photographs were taken from their private Instagram account. An anonymous Instagram handle was used to post the morphed images, but when some of the other students confronted the account holder, they went offline and refrained from any further activity.

The school management said that they have discussed the issue with the parent and supported the complaint filed with the Bengaluru Cyber Police.

"We will consider this as a discipline issue and school will be supportive every step," management added.
