About 150 senior citizens participated in the compitetion.
Dr Upendra Shenoy who addressed the gathering said that Manipal Hospital has been providing comprehensive healthcare solutions combined with medical expertise. The hospital has also created a supportive environment to boost the physical and mental health of the community.
“Dementia is a term used to describe a group of symptoms affecting memory, thinking, and social abilities interfering with daily activities. As life expectancy increases, dementia prevalence is also becoming more common. In India, 8% of people over the age of 60 have dementia. Several diseases can cause dementia, with Alzheimer's being the most common cause. It's important to see a doctor if you experience memory problems or other dementia symptoms. Determining the cause is crucial, as some medical conditions that cause dementia symptoms can be treated and cured,'' he said.
