KSRTC, BMTC to commute students to exams for free
Bengaluru, NT Bureau: Second-year PUC students in Karnataka are set to receive free bus rides during their upcoming Exam-3.
The Karnataka School Examination and Evaluation Board has requested that students be allowed to travel free on Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) buses from their residences to examination centres.
This initiative, aimed at easing transportation for students, will be in effect from June 24 to July 5. KSRTC has granted this request, permitting second-year PUC students to use their Exam-3 admission ticket to travel free of charge on city, suburban, general, and express buses.
This measure ensures that students can reach their exam centres without the financial burden of transportation cost.
All KSRTC drivers and conductors have been instructed to allow free travel for these students upon presentation of their exam admission ticket. Additionally, bus routes including examination centres will offer requested stops to facilitate student convenience.
The Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has also extended similar provisions. BMTC will provide free travel on its ordinary services for PUC students from their residences to exam centres during the exam period, ensuring all schedules and trips, particularly those catering to students, are operated as needed.
