Dengue outbreak sparks protest in Balagere
Bengaluru, NT Bureau: Residents of Balagere Panathur express growing frustration over the persistent dengue outbreak, citing inadequate measures to address the issue. They highlight the deteriorating condition of roadside sewage lines and numerous potholes as factors exacerbating the spread of the disease.
In an X handle @BalagereConnect, residents shared images and videos of the bad state of the sides of the road, sewage lines along with craters in the S Cross stretch & other places in this Panathur.
The citizens also highlighted the issues faced by us and surrounding residents.
They posted, “Looks like our representatives are not at all bothering and let us face this worst infra,” tagging MLA Manjula Aravind Limbavali, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, Lok Sabha MP PC Mohan and so on.
The community's efforts include local fogging campaigns to combat mosquito breeding in blocked stormwater drains. A recent post on June 23 urged community participation in a cleanup initiative to address the ongoing crisis.
