RV University signs historic agreement with Ibaraki Prefecture for student placements in Japan
Bengaluru, NT Bureau: RV University (RVU) has become one of only two Indian universities to sign a cooperation agreement with Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan.
This initiative aims to address the human resource shortage in Ibaraki by providing training and placement opportunities for Indian students in Japan.
The agreement was signed by Kazuhiko Oigawa, Governor of Ibaraki Prefecture, and Dr Y.S.R. Murthy, Vice Chancellor of RVU, in the presence of Dr A.V.S. Murthy, Chancellor of RVU, and Tsutomu Nakane, Consul General of Japan in Bengaluru.
Oigawa led an eightmember Japanese delegation, accompanied by Nakane, to formalise this partnership. RVU is notable for offering a creditbearing Japanese language certificate course, approved by the Japan Foundation, with support from the Embassy of Japan in India.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Governor Oigawa stated, “I am very happy to issue the joint statement on Mutual Cooperation in Training, Sending, and Accepting Human Resources with RV University.”
Discussing the cultural differences between Indian and Japanese students, he mentioned, “Although there has been a cultural barrier, it is gradually diminishing. With a sizable Indian community in Japan and the increasing influence of social media and the internet, these barriers are becoming less pronounced, making it easier for students to adapt.”
He also noted, “While some vegetarians might initially feel limited in their cuisine options, Japan actually offers a variety of vegetarian-friendly foods. Additionally, there are Japanese adaptations of Indian dishes, and one of my personal favourites is the Japanese-style curry.'"
Kazuhiko Oigawa emphasised that this collaboration will not only create opportunities within the tech and IT sectors but also benefit the manufacturing industry in Japan.
