Police-led initiative helps SSLC students overcome exam failures

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: An inspiring initiative led by police authorities in collaboration with NGOs Rajalanchana and Darpana has transformed the academic fortunes of several SSLC students who had previously failed their exams.

An event on Sunday celebrated the success of these students who, after rigorous coaching, passed their supplementary exams, with five students achieving the feat of passing all six papers they had initially failed in.

This initiative, now in its third consecutive year, was spearheaded by Rajesh LY, a dedicated police inspector who has since been promoted to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP).

The program was conducted across three centres in Chandapura, Anekal, and Mangammanapalya, Bengaluru. These centres provided a supportive environment where students received not only academic instruction but also essential resources such as snacks, lunch, notes, notebooks, and other study materials.

Classes were conducted by experienced teachers who volunteered their time and expertise to help these students succeed. The program ran for 28 days, during which students attended daily coaching sessions designed to address their academic weaknesses and build their confidence.

DySP Rajesh personally conducted motivational classes, offering tips on memory retention and exam techniques to help students maximise their performance.

Approximately 65 per cent of the participating students passed their supplementary exams, a significant improvement that has been attributed to the focused and personalised coaching they received.

Among the successful students, five who had failed all six of their subjects in the initial exams, managed to clear all papers in the supplementary exams, showcasing the effectiveness of the program.
