Bengaluru celebrates World Photography Day with a captivating photo exhibition and passionate reflections

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: Bengaluru buzzed with the spirit of photography on World Photography Day as News Trail delved into the city's vibrant photographic community. From budding enthusiasts to seasoned photojournalists, the passion for capturing moments through the lens was palpable.

While beginners expressed their exhilaration at discovering the art form, seasoned professionals shared their journey of turning a passion into a profession. Both groups echoed a common sentiment: photography is more than just clicking a button; it's a language of emotions, a tool for storytelling, and a window into the soul.

In celebration of World Photography Day, the Photojournalists' Association of Bangalore (PJAB) is hosting its 25th Annual Photo Exhibition, titled "Frozen Memories - 2024."

This three-day event, running from August 19 to 21, showcases over 100 photographs at the Karnataka Chitrakala Parishat. The exhibition was inaugurated by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Mohan Kumar B N, President of the PJAB, expressed his joy about the "Frozen Memories - 2024" exhibition in an interview with News Trail.

"As photojournalists, we capture numerous images at events, but only a couple usually make it to publication. However, a picture alone is enough to tell a story—no words are needed. Even the simplest photo can convey a powerful narrative," shared Mohan Kumar, who has over 25 years of experience in the field.

Shailendra Bhojak, Vice President of the PJAB and a Senior photojournalist with PTI shared, “Photography is both an art and a passion, allowing us to capture and preserve memorable events. Through pictures and videos, we can revisit these moments, taking a trip down memory lane and ensuring that they are preserved for the future. As photojournalists, we are often the first on the scene, dedicated to bringing out the real story through our lenses. With 22 years of experience working as a photojournalist, I have witnessed the power of photography in journalism, where every image serves as a testament to the events we cover and the stories we tell.”

Speaking to News Trail, Kirankumar. a passionate photo g rapher shared, “My love for photogra - phy began with the beauty of capturing moments, whatt keepss me passionate is the thrill of storytelling through images and the discovery of perspectives.''
