Road rage on the rise in Bengaluru: Concern grows

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: Road rage incidents have become increasingly common in the city, with recent events shedding light on the alarming rise in such aggressive encounters. Two notable cases in different parts of Bengaluru have raised concerns about public safety and the need for effective law enforcement.

In a troubling incident in Indiranagar, Jitin Raj was travelling with a friend in his car when he was followed and harassed by miscreants. The attackers, who trailed Raj's vehicle for approximately 3-4 kilometres, overtook him at the Indiranagar signal.

They then blocked his car, verbally abused him and made threatening gestures. The entire confrontation was captured on the car's dash camera. Jitin Raj promptly reported the incident on the social media platform X, tagging the city police commissioner and filing an official complaint.

The video evidence has sparked an outcry on social media and calls for immediate police intervention. Meanwhile, in Jayanagar, a food delivery boy was subjected to a violent attack near the Minishamba temple signal.

The altercation began when the food delivery boy's bike inadvertently brushed against an auto rickshaw. The auto driver and the delivery boy attempted to resolve the issue amicably, but tensions escalated at the next signal.

The auto driver, along with his associates, assaulted the delivery boy in a public display of aggression. A fellow bus passenger captured the entire incident on a mobile camera.
