Cong fact-finding team submits report on LS results
NT Correspondent Bengaluru: A fact-finding committee formed to assess results of the Congress in Lok Sabha elections of Karnataka was submitted to Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar. Shivakumar, who is also the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president, said that this particular report dealt with constituencies such as Hassan, Mandya, Mysuru-Kodagu and Chamarajanagar. The report was submitted by fact-finding committee members Congress MLA Nanje Gowda and former chairman of Karnataka State Commission for Backward Classes (KSCBC) CS Dwarkanath at the KPCC office in Bengaluru on Saturday. Reports are due on other Lok Sabha segments.
The Congress had won only nine seats out of a possible 28 Lok Sabha seats. Meanwhile, BJP won 17 seats and JD(S) added another two to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) tally. An all India Congress Committee (AICC) fact-finding committee, which was also tasked with assessing what went wrong with the party’s performance in the Lok Sabha, is yet to submit its report. The team is led by Congress veteran Madhusudan Mistry. It also includes MPs Gaurav Gogoi and Hibi Eden.
