K’taka signs MoU with Australia to boost renewable energy sector

Bengaluru, NT Bureau: In an aim to upscale in avenues of clean energies, renewables and green energy, the Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Department (KREDL) has signed an Agreement with the Smart Energy Council of Australia on Saturday. The agreement will help implement Australian technologies in the renewable energy sector, where demand is increasing by the day. Green hydrogen, battery energy storage systems, and related sectors are also covered in the said agreement.

This will also help in getting investments from Australian companies, State Energy Minister K J George said. “The state is leading the way in renewable energy production and promotion. We are offering incentives for projects that align with our industrial policy. These initiatives make Karnataka a key destination for investment," he further stated. Chairman of KREDL and Sringeri MLA Raje Gowda and Additional Chief Secretary to the Energy Department Gaurav Gupta were present.
